people and torts, I am Georgy, the only male in this family. Life is
hard, when you only have 2 women to mate with , because my main focus
is on reproducing myself as much as I can. Unfortunately my spouses are
not as interested as I am, but I don't give up.
I am a real cool guy and don't fear any obstacles in life. I've brought myself several times into trouble, but i know, Mom is always there to help me out. No rock is too high for me to climb on and no bush too tall not to try to reach the upper leaves. I am falling on a regular basis on my back, but I am always able to turn myself back on my feet. I found a special technic by swinging my shell forward and back until my head reaches the ground, then I use my neck muscles to flip my body over.

I am not the soft guy, and don't like when Mom wants to cuddle me too often. While I enjoy a good shower and getting my back shell rubbed , I only follow Mom, when I see food in her hands. I'm always very hungry, because I exercise a lot and can't sit still for longer than 5 minutes. I am so greedy for food, that I even bite Mom's hands sometimes, when she offers me something. I don't do this by purpose, just because they look like big worms and I am getting confused. She then calls me George, not Georgy, but I don't really care.

What I like most to eat are Papayas. I can eat a 2 pounder without making a break. Mom says, the Papaya seeds are a natural dewormer, so I eat them too and hope the only worms I have to deal with are the ones that I am eating. I also love Mangos, and when I get a corn cob, I forget everything around me. I gnaw this cob so clean that no single fiber is left. With greens I am very picky and only eat young leaves and seedling plants like Balsam impatiens. My most preferred greens are Parsley, red cabbage and Romaine. And now, stay cool, I have some better things to do...  Click
