Hello, I am Cocoa, a 7 pound Redfoot tortoise. I am 5 years old and live with my family in Madison Alabama.  Although I am the same age like my 2  buddies, I am much bigger than they are. I have no idea why I got so out of shape, but it may be because I am a little lazy. I just love to hang out somewhere under a bush for hours and watch what is happening around me.

Just looking around, if I can find some good weeds to eat.  My shell is always dirty, because I love to dig myself into the mud.  Mom sprays our enclosure with the garden hose every  other hour, and I love to get my personal shower from her, whenever I see her with the hose. She's used to brush the dirt of my shell with a shoe brush and it feels so good to have my shell brushed while getting showered.

Here are some of my preferred plants and weeds. I am very picky and don't eat everything. But the ones shown below are always welcome and every morning, when I get up, I make a tour around the enclosure to  have my breakfast.

The Hollyhock leave which you see on the picture, is the last one and not very attractive. All our Hollyhocks are never going to grow, because we eat the leaves as soon as a new one emerges. We all 3 are also crazy about the spineless opuntia and it can't grow as fast as we eat the pads.  Unfortunately the plants are still young and don't produce any fruits yet, which we love most, but Mom buys them for us sometimes in Walmart.

I also love to eat all kinds of fruits, while watermelons and strawberries are some of my favorites.  Sometimes I nipple a bit on an apple and eat some grapes, but I really die for bananas. I don't get them too often, because Mom says, they aren't the best choice for us.

Because we have always a high humidity here in Alabama, there are tons of mushrooms growing among our  garden. Mom doesn't know, if they are poisonous or not, but they aren't poisonous for us. We all love to eat as many mushrooms as we can find.

After a heavy rain I am always looking for worms. I could eat worms all day long, but those little guys don't show up too often on the surface and I hate to dig. So I just eat them, when they come out and I can get them with no effort.

And now good night, my friends, I got a little tired. Haven't talked that much in a year ;)
